On November 12 the holiday magic truly begins with the unveiling of the Gaylord Texan Resort’s ICE!” display. Part of the Gaylord Texan’s Lone Star Christmas celebration, “ICE!” is an extraordinary and magical display of elaborate, life-sized ice sculptures, ice slides and ice monuments with dramatic lighting effects — all created from nearly 2 million pounds of ice. This year’s ICE! exhibit will feature the 1957 Dr. Seuss holiday classic -”How The Grinch Stole Christmas!” In a series of colorful scenes straight out of the original storybook pages, Gaylord Texan’s ICE! attraction will brilliantly showcase how the “Whoville-hating” Grinch with a heart two sizes too small learns the true meaning of Christmas.

Grapevine Vintage Railroad

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad travels along the historic Cotton Belt Route between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. The railroad is serviced by two vintage locomotives which include “Puffy” the 1896 steam locomotive and oldest continuously operating steam engine in the South, and a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children, and $18 for seniors.
